It's that time again! I am nearing the end of my yearly challenge and hope to get at least two books read this weekend!
one the list
As a big fan of the Youtube vlogger, I was really looking forward to this memoir. I have not been a fan of this Youtuber book trend, but this one seems like it'll be fun!
This book was on a recommendation by a patron. I don't read many retellings but I am really excited, especially since I have never actually read the Carroll tale. I'm hoping I like this one!
Favorite Book of the Month
Dumplin by Julie Murphy
I absolutely loved this story! Such a unique voice and a beautifully layered story. The Texan setting, Dolly Parton fangirling and wonderfully constructed friendships really took a good story to an amazing, lovely YA read. Definitely one of my favorites of the year!
Top quote of the month
“I think you gotta be who you want to be until you feel like you are whoever it is you're trying to become. Sometimes half of doing something is pretending that you can.”
-- Julie Murphy, Dumplin
reading goal update
Seeing as I'm a little late on posting this, I am forgoing an October TBR and goals. But, definitely look for them next month
